La Huasteca Mexican Restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan has grown into a favorite among the locals.
In the beginning there were tacos. Killer. AUTHENTIC. Tacos.
Back in the day, La Huasteca was this empty little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. It was kinda dirty but the food was the bomb. Just the same, it was always empty and fairly quiet except for the TV dialed into Univision. In fact, it was typically so empty that the original owners were going to close.
Enter Salvador the cook and his partner in crime Jessica the waitress. They bought the joint. Ahhhh the American dream!
Salvador's budget? Free food for life and a little cash when he could.
